People who were part of
the early church frequently met together because they had a common interest. They were part of a community. In fact, they
actually wanted to be together and they worked at it!
Acts 2:46 “Every
day they continued to meet in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts,
praising God and enjoying the favour of all the people.”
The early church was encouraged
to work as a community, to share with each other, to work together, to praise God and pray together. When the church works
as a team often the product of the team is greater than the sum of the individuals.
Being a community means
looking after one another – that’s what a church should be about.
A church is made up of
people each with their own particular strengths and gifts. Everyone is needed and valued and all have a unique part to play
in order to maintain a healthy, vibrant and active presence.
Illogan is a great community
to be part of. We want to bring people together inside and outside the church. Church should be the greatest community on
earth, a place where people belong and want to belong. Everybody thrives on genuine and practical encouragement. Encouragement
is positive, builds people up, and it blesses. The best way to be encouraged is to go out and encourage someone yourself.
Together we can strengthen
and encourage community.
