It’s really fantastic to see when Jesus turns round the
lives of ordinary people, folks like you and me. This is what having faith is all about. This is what real church is about.
To see someone who has given up, start living each day with meaning and purpose, and knowing the freedom to be themselves
is a real thrill. We all need second chances. We all need someone to believe in us. We all need friends. There’s more
to life than struggling, striving and just paying the bills. Also, it’s okay not to be okay at times. That’s when
we need each other most, that’s when we need God most.
Church is about people, not buildings and that’s what we
preach. We are called to share with one another, love one another and encourage one another. It’s really good to be
part of, and it’s open to everyone.
Love
is the key
The
sharing and working out of faith is based on love and a servant’s heart, honouring one another, putting others first,
and serving the Lord. Basically, it is not about what we can get out of it, but rather what we can give. In this modern world
this is somewhat radical – putting others first, abandoning our own plans, and not looking for something in return.
We hope that Grapevine demonstrates this in action, is an oasis in the desert, a place to rest and recuperate. So if you’re
not feeling okay, then it’s okay.
Everybody needs a little help sometime.
Nobody can go through life without needing help some time in testing
circumstances, dealing with emotions, or just relationships with people. In these circumstances the simple act of drawing
alongside a person can be most helpful. This is part of church as well.
Gift boxes
Do you know of anyone who needs a bit of a
lift? Have they gone through a difficult time, or do they need some words of encouragement? Are they lonely? We can help!
As part of our outreach programme we are delighted to deliver gift boxes to people which include a small range of gifts and
a card with words of encouragement. There is no charge.
